From a Seed of a Dream to a Living Reality
On 100 acres of ancestral land in Mataxhi, MX, a dream has taken root. Centro Cultural Noxtitlan is a cultural center and a landback effort, a return of territory to the people, and a rebirth of memory, practice, and belonging.
Led by both U.S.-based and local Indigenous leaders, Noxtitlan is a place of remembering and reconnecting with ancestral teachings. It is guided by care for the land’s natural rhythms, built with love to nurture a culture nearly erased, and envisioned as a thriving space of ceremony, learning, and exchange.
Noxtitlan provides land access to local families, creates opportunities for sustainable livelihoods, and fosters a living bridge between Indigenous communities in Mataxhi, throughout Mexico, and across the U.S.
